Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
Proverbs 3: 5-6
Happy New Years!!! 2016. Gulp. Isn’t it nutty how yesterday wasn’t any different than today, except for the number on the calendar, yet starting on this date we have so many new (some not so new) expectations for ourselves and our life? Don’t get me wrong dreams and aspirations are great. It is just funny how we have to wait until January 1st to start them. For example this year, I am going to really focus on increasing my veggie intake. Could I have started that on December 14? Yep. But whoa, whoa… hold on here, lets not be rash, I have to wait until January 1st to start this. Still think I’m being overly dramatic? Walk into any gym in the United States, and there will be double to triple the amount of people there this month than there was in December.
There is something, nice – refreshing about having a clean slate, a fresh start. It is just kinda funny how that can only occur on January 1st every year. OK enough with all this crazy talk and let’s move onto Friday Favorites. I hope you enjoy them. Take care, and I wish you the best with your New Year’s Resolutions! 🙂
Favorite New Years idea: Soul Solutions Free Printable. This is super neat guys (who say’s neat?). This blog post is about making Soulutions that are good for your (you guessed it) soul, and not just resolutions. Another really cool idea in here is, you fill out your free printable and then FRAME it! That way you see it all year. Blew. my. mind.
Favorite Quickie: Chicken Stuffed French Bread. There are some work nights, I do not get home until 6 pm. And when the kiddos are starving by 5:45, I am scrambling to get something on the table. This looks like a good one to try. I would probably make my own Ranch dressing, because I have a weird thing about store bought dressing.
Favorite Quote: There are Far Better Things Ahead… This quote speaks to me, looking back it is easy to see when we are taking those scary steps out in uncharted territory that awesome things happen. But when you are in the moment, and do not know what the future holds it is so scary. Ya know?
Favorite Places to Visit: 15 Spectacular Places in the United States. I have started getting the travel bug lately. But with two littles, I will keep my dreams semi-realistic and dream of traveling neat places (neat, again? Geesh) in the U.S.
Favorite Kitchen: Copper Counter Top. I prefer a brighter kitchen, but these counter tops…. awesome!
Favorite (Maybe) Diet Change for 2016: Sugar Free + 50 Snack Ideas. Hi my name is Leesa, and I am a Sugar addict. Seriously guys. Sugar…. guh. I have in the past went a month or two without processed sugar. I’m starting to think bigger… We will see. I dunno, what do you guys think? (On this site you can download a free list of snack ideas.)
Favorite Reads: 10 Bible Studies to Savor. There are some neat (I have got to find a new word) reads in the list. I am going to read a few of these this year.
Hope you have a great first weekend of the year!!
