Why are you cast down. O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God.
It is a be-a-utiful morning! Other than that it is still dark outside and lightening, and I am dragging. It was a busy weekend and beginning to the week. Buuuut, I get to sit here at my local Panera and write to you wonderful people, with a wonderful COFFEE in my hand, lovely wonderful coffee…. sigh. With Pumpkin Spice Creamer I might add. I may or may not have brought my own creamer with me. On a scale of 1 to 10, that is like a 12 on the weirdness Richter scale isnt it??? I know, you can be truthful. It is good though, so maybe sometimes it is ok to be a little odd. That is what I’m going to tell myself anyways. I have already almost chugged the whole cup down, eh… I forsee jitters in my near future. Guh.
So back to creamer, this was not what I was going to post for this week – have some exciting upcoming post, stay tuned for that! I wanted to hop right on that fall pumpkin bandwagon with the rest of the great USA or at least the Midwest. Is pumpkin big on the coasts? I’m not sure. A delicious Pumpkin Spice Latte sounded dreamy.
But most places that you get a pumpkin spiced drink are full of artificial flavoring. For some reason that really gets under my skin – kinda takes the fun out of it, ya know? Doesn’t 4-methylimidazole resound of Fall?? Yum. Plus there is no actual pumpkin in most pumpkin coffee’s, what?
So, I started Googling for a good pumpkin spice coffee creamer recipe. Quick story about Googling. I love that word. I say it, a lot. Anytime Mr. Mead and I are having a little debate, or I can’t figure out how to do something. I say “Just Google it”. So, a couple weeks back, my almost 4 year old was playing with a pair of my swim goggles. He came running down stairs, very proud of himself that he put them on by himself, saying “momma look at my googles”! Oh, boy. A word that didn’t even exist when I was a kid, is already more common to my son, than the word goggles. Funny, kinda scary too.
So, back to pumpkin spice coffee creamer recipe. I Googled, surprisingly there were not very many recipes. What!?! Zilch with sweetened condensed milk, have you ever put sweetened condensed milk (SCM) in your coffee? Sugar/creamer puritans just skip this portion of reading. Its a GAME CHANGER. Vietnamese coffee recipes call for SCM. That was my gateway to using SCM in my coffee. I don’t use it all of the time, it is a little too high calorie for everyday use. But not for special occasions, like Pumpkin Spice Coffee Creamer!!! Give it a try, let me know what you think.
P.S. Be gentle with your judgment on pics this week, they are definitely not my best. But they will continue to get better. Thanks for understanding. 🙂
